These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Handballed platform, including our website, matching service, messaging tools, and payment features. By using the platform you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Handballed is a matching platform. We connect customers who have a business problem with verified expert consultants who can help. We are not a party to any agreement, engagement, or contract between a customer and a consultant.
We use AI-assisted matching to identify the right category of expert for each brief. This is a tool to help route requests — it is not professional advice and does not create any advisory relationship with Handballed.
Customers
You may submit a brief as a guest or by creating an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
Expert Consultants
To join as an expert, you must create an account and complete our verification process. You must provide accurate information about your qualifications, professional background, and areas of expertise. Your account will be reviewed before you can access and respond to customer briefs.
By registering as an expert, you confirm that:
- You hold the qualifications and experience you represent
- You hold any professional indemnity or other insurance appropriate to your category of work
- You will comply with all applicable laws and professional standards when providing services through the platform
- You will only respond to briefs in your verified category
Handballed reserves the right to suspend or remove any expert account where verification cannot be confirmed or where conduct is found to be in breach of these Terms.
When a customer submits a brief, Handballed notifies verified experts in the relevant category. The first two experts to respond are matched to the customer. Their contact details are provided to the customer, and the customer's contact details are provided to the matched experts.
By submitting a brief, you consent to your contact details being shared with up to 2 matched experts. By responding to a brief as an expert, you consent to your contact details being shared with the customer.
Handballed does not guarantee that a match will be found for every brief, or within any particular timeframe.
Where payments are processed through the Handballed platform, funds are held in escrow until the customer confirms the work is complete. Payment is then released to the expert.
All payments are processed by Stripe. By using the payment features of the platform, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
Disputes relating to payment or work quality should be raised with Handballed at hello@handballed.com.au. We will endeavour to assist in resolving disputes, but are not liable for losses arising from engagements between customers and experts.
Handballed charges a platform fee of 8% on transactions processed through the platform. This fee is deducted from the expert's quoted amount — the price agreed with the customer is the price the customer pays, with no additional surcharges. Experts are responsible for accounting for the platform fee in the rates they quote.
You must not use the Handballed platform to:
- Provide false or misleading information about yourself or your qualifications
- Circumvent the platform by arranging payment for services outside of Handballed after being matched through it
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Transmit spam, unsolicited marketing, or malicious content
- Attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt platform systems
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
Handballed reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any account found to be in breach of these rules without refund.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Handballed's total liability to any user in connection with these Terms or use of the platform is limited to the fees paid by that user to Handballed in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Handballed is not liable for:
- The quality, accuracy, timeliness, or outcomes of professional advice or services provided by expert consultants
- Any indirect, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the platform
- Loss arising from platform unavailability, technical failures, or data breaches beyond our reasonable control
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by contract.
The Handballed name, logo, and platform design are the intellectual property of Handballed Pty Ltd. You may not use them without our written permission.
Content you submit to the platform (including brief descriptions and messages) remains your property. By submitting it, you grant Handballed a limited licence to use that content solely for the purpose of operating the matching service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date below and, where changes are material, notify registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the changes.
